I was thinking about how green the grass is on the other side when I made this piece. We generalise, we moan and groan, but we never just accept reality when it is placed in front of our nose.

Framed panel of five twenty ounce hammers, covered in soft, candy floss pink fluffy fur, on peg board, that is normally associated with a bloke's garage. (A bloke - a "real man" - grandads, farmers, hunters, rugby players, builders, etc.)

Isn't it funny that we become tired after using a hammer for a while so we change hammers for a lighter one, for a bit of relief (in this case not realizing that all these five hammers weigh the same, twenty ounces) and think that the job will now be easy. This process can turn into a vicious cycle. Once you start, and have gone through all the hammers, can you ever get off the treadmill? One good thing about these hammers is that you will not have big, rough calluses on your hands at the end of it.

“The Moche people of ancient Peru worshipped nature. They placed emphasis on animals and often depicted flamingos in their art. Their oddly-shaped beaks are specially adapted to separate mud and silt from the food they eat, and are uniquely used upside-down.”

Have you ever danced with a chair?

How about trying to fit a square hole to a round peg?

What would Grandad have said about it all? Pink hammers hung on board from his workshop. Criminal most likely.
